Usually, she writes NA novels that are much less about life and much more about romance. The main character is still in high school and things don't really make it much further than kissing, so I think I'd say this one is older YA. First and foremost, I am hesitantly shelving this one as a YA instead of NA. ![]() This was unlike any other Hoover book I've read. ![]() Without spoiling too much, I just want to say that there are trigger warnings for attempted suicide and depression. Maybe it's the perspective and assumptions that make all the difference. But perhaps she's seeing things from a glass half empty perspective. Her sister's boyfriend, Sagan, kissed her accidentally and has now all but moved into the house. Their older brother, Utah, did something he should never have when they were younger and Merit cannot forgive him. Merit's twin sister, Honor, has decided after the death of her first love to only be with guys who are dying. Her father is seemingly oblivious to the problems around his house. Her mother has agoraphobia and doesn't leave the basement of their church-turned-house, even after the divorce. The story follows the perspective of seventeen-year-old Merit and her family. ![]()

Perhaps the best example of this gift in action hitherto was his 2006 volume Philosophy of Mind: A Beginner’s Guide (at least, speaking for myself, I have both recommended it to general readers and used it with undergraduates, in either case with very happy results). As scholarly virtues go, this is one of the rarer ones-in part because it takes considerable patience both to acquire and to practice, and in part because it requires a genuine desire to entrust difficult ideas to those from whom they are typically withheld. Edward Feser has a definite gift for making fairly abstruse philosophical material accessible to readers from outside the academic world, without compromising the rigor of the arguments or omitting challenging details. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() O元9518W Page-progression lr Pages 58 Ppi 300 Related-external-id urn:isbn:067094498X Urn:lcp:stinkycheesemana00scie:epub:453cff23-de18-405e-91bb-11264e30da7f Extramarc OhioLINK Library Catalog Foldoutcount 0 Identifier stinkycheesemana00scie Identifier-ark ark:/13960/t9b57tz26 Isbn 9780670844876ĩ1048184 Ocr_converted abbyy-to-hocr 1.1.20 Ocr_module_version 0.0.17 Openlibrary OL1565969M Openlibrary_edition The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales is the ultimate in fractured fairy tales. According to Boyd, their ceremony-which occurred on this exact date in 1966-took place in the morning at the Epsom register office in Surrey, England, and both she and Harrison were dressed to the nines by swinging ’60s fashion designer Mary Quant. More than half a century later, their stylish take on urban wedding dressing remains iconic. Nearly everything about George Harrison and Pattie Boyd’s relationship was the stuff of rock ’n’ roll dreams-aside, of course, from its famously rocky end, which saw Boyd leave Harrison for his best friend, Eric Clapton. Once upon a time, one of the Beatles walked onto the set of A Hard Day’s Night, met a girl, asked her out, got rejected, asked again, and the rest-the passion, the music, and a love triangle of Shakespearean proportions-is history. ![]() |
